Need Old button ID,

Paul (Ca)

New member
Hello,

Found this today at an old site, About the size of a quarter only a little bit smaller. The back markings are.....TRELLEGILT ORANGE COLOUR...........Please note the word color is spelled with a "U" between the letters "O and R."

The shield has an anchor within the shield with 13 stars around the eagle, It's a single piece button. Loaned out my button book so I need an ID from you experts, Any help will be a warm welcome.

All the best, Paul (Ca)

That would be TREBLE GILT meaning three times to make it thick. Colour is the correct spelling, U.S. changed it somewhere along the line.

Got her traced to an 1820's NAVY BUTTON, That's old for good'o California :)

Thanks again, Paul (Ca)
