It looks like it could be an 1918/7 but to know for sure is going to be tough. If you have any other 1918 Buffalo Nickels you may have found before, maybe try doing a side by side comparison with them to see if there is any difference in the date. You could have a really good Coin there, just too bad its so pitted. Hope its the rare variety! Good Luck and HH.

According to the PCGS website, that coin is worth $1300, even in the lowest grade. I would call them immediately, and whatever you do, DO NOT try to clean the coin...

Hey i was wondering if someone can help me out here i am very new at this and have always wanted to get into metal detecting. there are so many detectors out there and i am mostly into parks and some water. is there anything that i can get started out with that wouldnt cost me an arm and a leg. i have a hard time going to a store and asking a sales person right off the back.

He could help you out with a cheap machine that will have excellent results for the money you spend on a unit. You don't have to have a Spendy Detector to make nice finds, it just takes a little research on areas and getting time logged onto your detector. I believe Rick has a Forum Banner on one of the White's Forums so check him out. You can't go wrong! Hope this helps.
