I found this silver dollar sized disk mixed in with some early 1900's artifacts. The disk measures 2" in diameter and has a couple weld spots on the back. Any ideas?

Looks like a pin on broach. No idea on the age. Pretty cool though!!
 
Some of the old lanterns had a decorative heat shield above the glass globe. Weld marks could be where the wire basket around the glass attached?????
