NEED SOME SCORP TIPS

I'm going camping at the beach for a week at San Clemente SB and I am wondering what is the best way to try and detect in the wet black sand if there is any. It seems like last year it was real noisy in the wet stuff. will it run in TR mode, anyway if anybody has any tips to share I am grateful. Thanks in advance Mike

Yeah man, TR mode will run smooth. You won't get that much depth in TR mode, though. I wouldn't try All Metal mode. If you do use All Metal mode, keep the search coil a few inches off of the ground. If you wanna try Disc mode, crank the Disc up 'til it quiets down. Only thing is, you'll miss out on gold crankin' the Disc up too high. TR mode is probably best for the wet sand, though. Best of luck to ya. Happy Hunting!:)

Thanks for the info. I know I asked last year and I think you answered me then. I printed it out and put it somewhere safe. anyway I'll post my finds when I get back.I can be confident because I'm taking the scorp & it won't let me down.

I'm up here in the Seattle area and hunt the wet sand beaches all the time with great success. Forget the TR Mode........ you will see deeper than it can detect in mineralized sand!!! Detect the damp to semi damp.... sand areas only ... avoid salt water puddles/pools. Ground balance in the all metal mode with the toggle in the manual position. If it's not a perfect balance you will still be fine...better to be a bit on the positive GB side. Once your balanced switch the toggle up to auto; but stay in all metal....now do your searching. You can cross check your targets by flipping the mode switch to motion Disc once you locate a target...just be careful because deep rings will have a smaller and quieter sound in the disc mode. (Set the disc at 6.5) You will see that rusty iron and junk will not have a sharp distinct sound so you can avoid digging lots of junk. Good luck .....go for the gold!!!
