Need Your Help & Opinion On Choice of Two Box Detectors

SeniorSeeker

Hello Fellow Seekers,

For a long, long time I have been curious about metal detecting with two box detectors but my knowledge of them is limited. Basically there's three I'm considering (other than the Garrett 2500 w/the treasure hound attachment) and they are the White's TM 800, the Treasure Finder 900 Auto, and the Fisher Gemeni 3. Unfortunately two of the three have enormous battery consumption and one is heads above the other two in that respect. The cost of the unit is a prime concern but I don't want to sacrifice quality either. Any help you can render will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry Marty, I know nothing about them, but I pray you will get the info you need and make the right choice and be happy with it! May God Bless! Ma Betty

Don't know much about that, but Mike may have a good idea. I am sure he will be on here soon.

If you went into the detector shop where I go L C would recommend the TF 900. He has sold and used detectors for 40 years and is well respected for his knowledge. Everyone at Fisher Co. of Los Banos, Cal design and engineering , including the president of the company, was on a first name basis with him. He knows what he is doing for sure. Hope this helps.

Thank You Ladies & Gentlemen.

If I do eventually purchase a two box unit, the TF900 is likely the one I'll purchase. The other two, as good as they may be, use far too much battery power for the few hours of use in return. The TF900 literature claims between 30-40 hours per set of batteries or recharge, if using rechargeable batteries. Thank you for your help.

They are both good machines! :)

Well Guys & Gals, after several emails and a long discussion with the owner of our local treasure shop, I've decided to not purchase a two-box unit. What I'll likely do is purchase a White's M6 with a 12" coil and that will give me the extra depth I need based upon 40 years of research by Charles Garrett. I thank you all for your help & suggestions.

Hope it all works out for you and I have a 12" coil for my White's Coinmaster DI Series III but both were always heavy for me to use....so the coil is still like new! Men are stronger and able to swing heavier equipment....May God Bless you with some nice deep and great finds! Hope you get to show us some pics! Ma Betty
