NEL snake coil or sharpshooter

dirt lizard

Which would you think would be a better coil for the Eurotek pro ? I can't decide on one seeing their both a great coil.

I have the sharpshooter on my euro tek pro.I will say this. A few years back I planted a dime at a measured 7 inches under the ground in iron infested place. My explorer SE pro won't touch it,big or little coil. The euro with ss coil nails it loud from 2 angles, solid id and no question. Now,that coins been there about 3 years, has it sunk past 7 inches?

The Minelab Explorer SE was never good at iron infested areas. My old Tesaro Cibola beat it hands down. on a very busy Roman site the exploer got no finds the Cibola 35 in 30 minutes. I now use the T2 SE upgraded machine with the sharpshooter coil. great!!

I also use a Sharpshooter on a T2,in my opinion possibly the best detector/coil combination that i have used, and also great on Roman/Saxon sites.

In my own mind I think that they would be the same in depth being both DD coils. I'm just looking for other peoples opinions.

wish they would hurry up and find my snake :punch: when they do I will let you know

but if my thoughts are right then each coil has its own place, got stuck today with the 5" NEL and wish I bought the 10 x 5 fisher coil after I moved from one spot in the park to another so always pays to have a few coils in the car :bouncy: I will remember for next time.

@amberjack,when i take my T2 out detecting which most of the time has the Sharpshooter coil on it for general searching i also carry the 5'' DD and also a large SEF coil with me,these are all mounted on the Whites tallman 33'' rods so that i can changed them over in ultra short time duration.Just undo the universal shaft clamp which take seconds and of course undo the cable from the control box but change over take i guess about 60 seconds then out detecting again.

Works a treat so basically i have 3 different coil sizes that will cover me for most if not all my detecting needs from ultra trashy sites ie 5'' coil,Sharpshooter and for deep pasture, ploughed and rolled or hoard hunting the large SEF coil.I do have 2 straps on the back of my harness that i use that i can carry a complet coilk with shaft attached to it so if i am well away from the car i can change over in very short time.

thanks Mega, have a lot of my coils on rods, but just trying to work out the cheapest way to have them for Fisher/Tesoros the fisher holes are a bit smaller than the Tesoro's where the coil bolts on guess I will have to see if the bigger hole gives any wobble with the Tesoro pole on the fisher as in try one out, Tesoro lower poles are the cheapest  pole washers nut bolt cheaper than the fisher without hardware.

you ever tried the Tesoro on the fisher for an extended time?

hope all that makes sense

so yes I am with you for sure easy change out !!

so yeah use the tesoros for the tesoros with Tesoro nut and bot and use the Tesoro poles on the fishers with a fisher nut bolt will be a bit of play guess I could put some tape or something around the fisher bolt, geese now I am confusing myself :lmfao:
