Nel storm or hunter

The Hunter is very similar to the F75 stock coil, I don't see any advantage to buying one unless your stock coil is broken. I have a Storm coil on my Tejon, I like it but it is heavy. It does go deep though. I plan to buy a Sharpshooter and a Tornado coil for my F75. The Tornado is lighter than the Storm but will still go deeper than the F75 stock coil. I mount them on extra lower shafts to make coil changes fast and easy. Extra lower shafts are very inexpensive. Detech makes a 13 inch coil similar to the NEL Storm that is a little lighter in weight. The NEL coil is better shielded, which is where the extra weight comes from. The F75 is susceptible to EMI, so I would talk to someone who actually has run a Detech coil on an F75 before you buy one.

You don't mention the detector you have. Some coils are harder to come by depending on the detector. I have an F5 and F19 and have tried a few bigger than stock coils. Since you mention getting a "little deeper", a Mars Tiger might get you what you need. If you want deeper still, I would suggest a Detech Ultimate. It's not much heavier than the stock 11 DD and it works well for me on both detectors. The cover is the only real nuisance on the Ultimate since crud keeps getting between the cover and base. I have had a NEL Thunder coil but preferred the Ultimate. I also had a Detech 10 X 12 butterfly coil and again, liked the Ultimate better. I have a Mars Discovery on order so I can't really speak about that one but if it's anything like the Tiger, it should be interesting as a beach coil.

There are other coils that can go deeper than the ones mentioned above but they are not light by any means and overall balance and comfort might start to be an issue on long hunts.

Sorry about that, its for an f75 se. I can get pretty deep with the stock coil, but just seeing if there is anything that would add some depth and not kill your arm. The 15 inch coil that Fisher makes is ok, but its heavy. Sold that thing pronto.
Thanks for the help so far.

I run the NEL Hunter on my F75 and it is 1.5-2 in deeper on most targets over the stock coil. It is heavier, but to me it is worth the difference in depth and stays on my machine 95% of the time.

Did the 15" Fisher coil get more depth, just curious ?

I think the fisher 15" is a joke. got one for free when I bought mine. on coins it doesn't really get any more depth than the stock, in trash it is worthless and its so heavy it makes the shaft flex to the point I'm afraid to use it.

onn. Well, I just got the Fisher 15" in today and used it for about an hour and it is definitely heavy after an hour's use. Although I did get about 3 more inches out of a quarter in this dirt. That's about what I hoped for.
