NEL Tornado 12" x 13" 18,75 KHz Coil ?

New member
Hello everyone,

Has anyone of you tried the NEL Tornado 12" x 13" coil 18,75 KHz in the ground yet ??

I have found this airtest on youtube of it(They test the 12" x 13" 18,75 KHz model in the end of the videoclip - right after the sharpshooter.)

LINK REMOVED by Moderator

The airtest of the 18,75 KHz version of the 12" x 13" NEL Tornado Coil look promising, but I would have liked a test in the ground too. That's why I ask, if any of you have tried it ???
or perhaps has found a videoclip with a groundtest of the 18,75 KHz (Not the 7,5 KHz) ??
I'm going to use it for those thin viking and medieval silvercoins.......and I do not know if the 7,5KHz version of the NEL Tornado will do the job??

NEL coils have NOT been authorized, licensed or approved by Minelab for use on any of their products. I have left your post but removed the link to the video. HH Randy

here is a post that pretty well sums it up.....

Digger(Randy) or Doc, I wonder if those Detech SEF DD Butterfly coils(made in Bulgaria) or Excellerator coils sold by Kellyco and Sunray aftermarket coils(made in USA) that work on Minelab's Explorer, Safari, E-Trac, and/or Sovereign units are authorized, licensed or approved by Minelab.? Also if they violate any Minelab Patents.?

Or is it just NEL coils because of the V-Flex patent being only on the Minelab X-Terra series.?

Coiltek, Sunray and Detech (EXcelerator) all went through the rigorous process of meeting the engineering requirements of, and the legal steps involved in becoming authorized and licensed by, Minelab. Sunray is licensed to manufacture coils for the FBS and BBS detectors, as well as electronic probes for those series. Detech is licensed to manufacture coils for the FBS, BBS, GPX and Musketeer series. Coiltek is licensed to manufacture coils for the BBS, FBS, SD, GP and GPX series. In addition, Coiltek also manufactures an electronic probe for the SD, GP and GPX detectors, as well as WOT coils for the Eureka and Advantage. Recently, Coiltek was licensed to manufacture the 15-inch All Terrain DD coil at 7.5 kHz for the X-TERRA. At this point in time, that specific coil is the only X-TERRA coil licensed to be manufactured by any aftermarket manufacturer.

One other interesting point about Coiltek, Sunray and Detech.....I believe that each of the three companies who distribute these aftermarket products in the US are also Authorized Minelab dealers.

Digger (Randy), thank you, great information, and that clears it up a lot.! Sorry it took so long to reply. I have not been on the computer much and take breaks from the computer for days at a time and one time lately for about 6 days off.

1)--I do not know if I am allowed to also post the Coiltek and Sunray coil webpages if they are Findmall sponsors.?

2)--Is there or do you have a complete list of all of the Findmall sponsors.?

3)--Also Nugget Finder and Razorback do make coils for Minelab SD, GP, and GPX machines. I wonder if they are authorized and licensed by, Minelab.?

I have no "professional affiliation" with Finds Treasure Forum, any detector manufacturer, any accessory manufacturer or any detector dealer. All of my efforts are voluntary, without compensation. And all of my opinions are stricly that, my opinions. I would suggest you contact the owner of Finds Treasure forum for the answer to your questions concerning where you can post and who are Findmall sponsors. I would suggest you contact Minelab to learn who is authorized to manufacture coils for their detectors. HH Randy

I understand and thank you, but the only 'business links' we are only allowed to post are Findmall sponsors. So if a person does not know who the sponsors are and mistakenly posts a non-sponsor, then we will have our posts deleted by the Moderators(policeman). I thought all the Moderators had a list of all of the sponsors so in case someone posts a 'business link' it can be cross checked for reference whether to delete the post or not.

If you do not have such a list I can contact the owner of Finds Treasure forum for who are Findmall sponsors.

And also, yes, I can contact Minelab to learn who is authorized to manufacture coils for their detectors.

There is a post on the feedback forum that tells all the forum sponsors.

Here is the link that 7centsworth mentioned in his post
.

Thanks to 7centsworth as I didn't know it existed!

Also, I don't know who has access to delete posts on this forum or any other Findmall forum. But based on some of the posts that have disappeared without my having anything to do with them, there are obviously others besides myself. If you want to refer to us as policeman, I'll consider that a compliment! HH Randy

Yes, but on MineLab Owners TV was published great vid about NEL coils and this channel can be watched on MineLab website:

http://www.minelab.com/emea/consumer/knowledge-base/mlotv

The vid is for another unit, but ... is for NEL.

Yes thats correct!
I have seen that NEL do have 8 coils for X-Terra.
BIG15"x17" ,Tornado12"x13" ,Hunter12.5"x8.5",and sharpshooter9.5"x5.5".
They come in the frequency 7.5 or 18.75khz.

I hope Minelab comes out with some bigger coils in the 18.75khz area soon.....that 15x17 is a monster..
