A member on another forum said he had the matching earring but his had diamonds......I checked mine.........and to my surprise they are real diamonds.

I guess I do the same thing really. I NEVER get my hopes up on them being real. I just wait until I get home, hand it over to Huntress with the diamond tester and hold my breath! If we are hunting together, then she will check them in the truck, but I like to wait till she's there, it adds to the excitement, LOL! Great find Bobbie!
 
Even if the stones don't test well, doesn't mean the setting is not gold... Picked up an earring a long while back. Stones didn't test as diamonds, but the setting tested 18k, even after scoring the surface and re-testing. After the stones went south, I was a bit disappointed, but looking at the setting, I was fairly certain it was not plated...Glad I took a few minutes to test it.
 
Diamond testers, for a good one about $200.00. I think you can find one a little cheaper , but i wanted a good one so i paid the price. Gene
 
and when I took it to our club meeting it tested GOOD.... 27 diamonds!!!! Put new batteries in my tester, and sure enough. Congratulations.
