After a poor start with the above coil/Xt70 rig on my last outing (difficulty with GBing, pinpointing, and over head power cables) this Sundays club dig was a real eye opener.
Ground balance was easier, with much lower numbers (around 60) and my 1st target was a lovely bell tone just 10 feet from the car, a bent and worn Victoria penny of 1866.
What really impressed me was in the next field. The GB numbers had risen to around 70 (meaning lower ground mineralisation than before?) but I was able to run at much increased sens (2
because of the lack of junk targets. This meant I was able to get a good repeatable lock and ID numbers of 26-28 on a worn Georgian Half-penny that turned out to be 13 inches down! to say I was amazed was an understatement!
A testament to a great coil and a great detector.
