NEW 15" SEF Coil for ACE serie

frenchcoil

New member
DETECH has released a 15 inches coil for the ACE serie.
it's already very popualr in France and the field tests have given excellent results:
http://www.lefouilleur.com/forum/grand-disque-sef-38-cm-pour-ace-150-250-le-test--vt48555.html

Why Garrett never has come out with a 6, 8, 10 inch round concentric and the same in DD coils just blows my mind. They already have all the materials to do it. They let someone else beat them to it.

The ideal coil to detect soccer fields,
When will it be available in USA and CANADA ?

This should work to translate page for those who dont read french http://www.google.com/language_tools

2.2 centimeter to make 1 inch

Looks cool. you"d probably lose some sensitivity not so good for small gold but i recon it"d be a killer on the coins.

Even if it's a butterfly one. All good. If I lived on the coast, I'd buy it in a heart beat, as it would be perfect for beach hunting. As it stands, I love the standard coil and large one, as it gives great target information.
Mick Evans.

Oh, Frenchcoil, you are in big mistake :) These coils was on the market as far back as in May.
But - what do you think? Is it be possible coil with this size to destroit the work of the unit?
And something else - Garrett produces for ACE an additional coil too. Than - why we have to buy another one?

It looks a little big for my type of hunting. Maybe they will come out with one in the 6 to 8 inch range? I could see where the big one could come in handy in some spots.

this coil has nothing to do with the standard garrett coils. Much more sensitive, with better depth and still very stable. Pinpoint is still very accurate.
The ace sell like pancakes so does this coil. And it's very light too: 670gr with scuff included.
the main advantage of this technology is that it doesn't loose accuracy or strenght on VERY small targets taht are hard to find (gold, mixed metal like in old europe like the celtic and medieval ones).
That's the mainb difference between a standard large DD coil and the SEF technology from DETECH. It's not more powerful or sensitive...but there's no loss on small targets.

hey, for once something cool is released in France before in the US, don't take it away from us !
Come on, we're always last served in France...see, the Cz21 is not available yet for instance, same for the ETRAC !
Same thing for movies, hellboy 2 will be released next month in France...

I can't understand you... You want to say me that Garrett don't know how to make their units " more sensitive, with better depth and...stable"????????? No, no...

I searched around the net and found a dealer in France that carries these.
The selling cost is $165 Euro which converts to about $233 US Dollars before shipping.

That's more than the Ace 250 costs at many outlets and seems ridiculously expensive.
Think I'll wait to see if Garrett comes up with something someday for a realistic price.
It would seem that if enough users express their desire for a coil like this than Garrett will probably respond.
