Hello everyone, My son and I have worn out our toy detectors and we’re upgrading. I got the Ltd with two coils and he has the 75+ kit. I’m looking forward to getting to spend time with him. The whole family really, my wife is a rock hound and so is my daughter. I’ll be needing advice I’m sure. Hunting in NW Georgia. Y’all have a great day. PA.

Congrats on your selection of 75's, I have had one since I retired in 2010.

I think you guys will really like them, the recovery speed is really fast.

Enjoy,

Ron in WV

Be cautious of snakes...… Summertime is horrible for those little devils in NW Georgia.

Fill your dig holes.... ask permission before hunting on private property. You will find a great more targets at depth with the F75's over as you stated "Toy Detectors"

One of the fastest reset detectors on the market. Very very decent depth.... run preset for awhile till you understand what the targets are.

Above all..do not get discouraged while learning the machine operation.

Make it a fun hobby..not a I have to find the best stuff hobby....:)

Subnote: Ace detectors and Bounty hunter detectors are not toy detectors. They are entry level to mid level detectors.
There are toy detectors out there. I saw he mentioned in a second post Ace and Bounty hunter. I wanted to clarify that as I used his quote "Toy Detectors: in my
response...per his original no brands named post.. Just Toy detectors was stated.

Good luck with your f75s, they are fine machines, I have an f75 and it's little brother f70 and I'm really impressed with both. I think you made a good choice.

Good luck to you and your family. You have some good hunting grounds over that way. I've had a 75 since they were first introduced and have a LTD currently as well. Great detectors. Kind of curious about the F 75+. Let us know if you guys see much difference between the LTD and the +. Good luck! HH jim tn

Thanks. Believe me I’m watching for snakes. The toys were an ace and bounty. It gives us something in common and gets him out from in front of a computer. I’m interested in the difference myself so I will update after a couple hunts. Thanks again and good luck. PA.

First Off!
Welcome To The Forum,

About all the help you'll need is right here.

And a friendly warning!!!!! expect a decent time in the learning curve between what you had and what you have!
My older brother (WV_62) above used to go through what he (we) called the "Broken Stage" he would get a new detector and they were always broken, a few actually got sent back as being broken LoL! of course they were returned with a clean bill of health. My point is sometimes we can get such a different brand or model of beast that's so different than what we're used to that it really does seem like they're broken.
Just stay with it through the broken stage (learning curve) and you'll do fine!

Good Luck
Happy Hunting (HH)
Mark

Thanks for the advice Mark. At least we have been digging and pinpointing stuff for a while now. We have permission to detect around some really old houses. It will be a good practice spot.

You'll really appreciate your upgrade.

My two tips......1) Don't be afraid to run the gain really low when you need to, and 2) Remember the F75 likes a brisk sweep speed.

Good luck!

HH
Mike

Thanks Mike, the ground here changes here drastically in a short distance so I have a lot to learn. But that’s ok.

Congratulation on your recent upgrade. The F75 offers many features that can be set according to the many different hunting conditions that are encountered. The Sensitivity on the F75 does not need to be cranked way up to get good depth. If you experience a lot of noise and false signals, don't be afraid to turn it down somewhere in the 50-60 range. Ground Balancing often is a good habit to get in to .Reading the manual over and over will help you when you are out in the field. Have fun and good luck.

Thanks for advise and encouraging words. Im a longtime relic hunter from arrowheads to gold but this is the first real detector for me. I’m excited!

The F75 is great detector. Give yourself ample time to learn it.
If falses a lot on nails and other iron that have been in the ground a long time. But once you
Pin point the target it will settle down and almost always tell you if it’s iron or a good target
worth digging. Bottle caps will often come up as a silver coin but the confidence meter will read low.
If you think it is a coin under the coil raise the coil higher and higher. If it is good target the tone will
not change.
I rely a lot on the confidence meter. But I dug a lot of junk targets to get a feel for the accuracy
of the confidence meter.

I’ve got about 40 hours on it now and I’m starting to learn the language. I appreciate your wisdom and advise. I love this machine. PA.
