New coils

UK Brian

New member
The new Detech S.E.F. coil range has been expand to include the F75 recently and the T2 version has just arrived at some dealers in Europe.
As Detech don't seem to make a meal out of new coil design it could be they will fill the gap and produce the smaller coil that so many want to fit in with their range of larger coils.

Brian, please tell us more!!! I could not find anything on the web. I would like to see more coils for the T2. Links?????

please fill us in, i know they made DD coils for the 6.59 freq, whites, but could not find there site. please leave a link, teknetics seems to have no interest in providing us a small coil

Thanks Brian for the T-2 coil information,

I'll send you a PM here shortly, It would be nice if the T-2 coil you mentioned was a concentric coil.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

Unfortunately not a small coil yet but the new Detech SEF combination of concentric and double D. The first T2 version has arrived in the shop in France (La Boutique Du Fouillereur), I think they have just one under test. They already have had the F75 version which sells for $311, approx. size 12" x 15". Unfortunately the Euro is strong against the dollar at the moment.

We haven't got either in the U.K. yet but the rest of the SEF range for other machines can be seen at www.joanallen.co.uk . Sizes range from 12 x 10,15 x 12, 18 x 15 to 21 x 17.

3 people are testing this coil so far :

- one is testing the F75 SEF coil: (he should give the first results soon):

- one is testing the SEF coil (15x12) for Explorer with and XS II. He has published the results in the air, and will publish the results "in the ground" soon on the same forum and in the magazine belonging to the forum (I'll make a scan if you want)

- one has bought it for the Sovereign Gt (15x12) and seems happy with it. I cannot find the link...

Hope this helps.

Man the USD sure took a plunge on the Euro!! 1.5 to 1

Anyone have Detech websie?

Doesn't matter how many times you post it--I don't think we're gonna see a small coil ever.

Paul... am I missing something here? The T2 was designed to only accept a DD.
Remember the Infinium? It needed to be modded to accept a mono and also needed
a mold..

I understand the problem with the slowness of the small DD for the T2 is that
First Texas may need to solve, in designing a smaller DD, is they need to
first design a mold??? And also a smaller circular DD is tricky...it need to be carefully
designed as otherwise they it will be "noisy." It could be that FT is working on one for the T2
as this is written...

Also, how many of us T2 owners will now buy a smaller coil? Time is marching
on, and the future of the T2 seems to be getting buried in the sands of time...
It seems that FT has decided to use Fisher as their flagship(?)...

I originally was interested in the T2 for detecting eluvial gold in the desert
areas of the southwest. For this, likely a smaller coil would be needed. As for
me, I no longer use my T2 in nuggethunting... not that it will not find gold;
but there are other choices... I'm still bullish regarding the T2 and as you may
notice I posted just a day or so ago about finding a 1866 shield nickel...
