New Coiltek platypus coil? 8.5 X 11.5?

Goldenroyboy posted that there was a new coil in Coiltek's lineup a while back.
I saw a picture of it on one site and it looks to be a perfect size, and is advertised as waterproof.
Anyone try one yet? If its more stable than the stock coil, and would at least equal the depth, I'd be up for trying one...don't know if they are for the Explorer series or not, yet, but I hope so. Looks to me to be a good addition to the arsenal for general detecting.

Hello Knipper!
TonyC PM'ed me just yesterday; both CoilTek's Platypus 8.5 x 11.5 and WOT 15 incher are available to be ordered for the Explorer SE. Both coils are getting very good reviews. Coiltek has a new promotion; cutting retail prices almost in half. You may want to contact TonyC directly.

Stay on and you have to Zip tie it on as it is too loose and don't fit the coil. That is why they taped it to the coil. Save your money. If you want a larger coil get the 12" Excellerator or the new 10X14" Excellerator. 10X14" is one deep accurate and don't false coil. I know that the 12" is a excellent coil also. Mike Va Beach has both of them if I remember right. I just finished using my 10X14' coil and the worst black sand beach you ever say and the 10X14" would worked great and I am a very hard person to impress. Save your money and get a good coil. I won't even sell my Platypus coil cause I honestly can't say anything good about it so I am stuck with it. So  on that coil for me. I have done head to head with flags in the ground and every way you could test it. Like I said  Later Jerry aka Tinfoil
