SO! I just purchased my first Metal Detector. A Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505. I'm so excited I'm about to bust! (pardon the vernacular). Hope that brown truck drives fast :)

Can't wait to see what you find!

Congrats and hope you get your new detector soon and you're able to get out and do good in finding those hidden coins and treasure! May God Bless! Ma Betty

I know you'll have a great time.. Hope you find lots of goodies

Fantastic! Like so many units designed for those new to the hobby, the Bounty Hunter 505 will serve you well. Congratulations! Hope all your finds are good ones.

You will find good things with it. I found my best ring with a bounty hunter sharp shooter II. Congratulations. Feel free to ask questions when you get it , as a sharp shooter and a 505 are almost the same detector.

Thanks for all the well wishes. My son had his 5th birthday today and we went out to a park near our house. The lake there has a swimming area where they bring in sand every year. It also is part of a system that runs through a dam so in the colder months the lake is down about 10 feet probably. So that's where I'll be hitting first. I'll post what I find if anything for my first find. The great part is the Ranger's could care less if I detect there anytime I want as long as I dont disturb anybody. Since nobody goes out there except a few raccoons this time of year it shouldn't be a problem. As I was walking around there my wife kept having to nudge me to get me outta my own little treasure hunting fantasy world hehe. Words like AVAST MATEY! and ARRGH!, and Shiver me timbers lassy! kept escaping my lips. haha Maybe its just that spring is around the corner, or maybe now i get to live out those childhood dreams of finding a treasure buried beneath the sands! But how I do ramble on...Thursday it arrives... but alas there's a 90% chance of rain on Thursday. So 10% chance i'll still get to go out!

Later

Happy birthday to your son and good luck in finding something good in the lake's sandy areas! I sure wish I had some sandy shores to go :detecting: in and then I might not get so tired from swingin' and a diggin' ! :) May God Bless you with the good STUFF! Amen! Ma Betty
