Hi: I'm awaiting my Ex2 in the mail and am wondering if anyone might have a "simple" effective program/tip, whatever--that might help ease the learning curve? I'm fresh off a Shadow X-3 that has two knobs. I've heard many stories that learning the Minelab is like chewing on tinfoil...

Many thanks, Mike

Hey Mike,to start there a book learning the minelab explorer,, it give you alot of tips, I myself hunt in iorn mask, or all metal & dig all targets. It depends on what type of hunting you will be doing, If I just coin hunt I make a program that I dig only the coin tones , when I relic hunt I dig all targets, beach hunting I only dig the gold tones, set up a stand & bench test different items over the coil, see where they read on the graft, play with it & keep playing, you have the best. It will take time to learn it but don't give up, Just remember go slow, creeper gear.& get ready to find TREASURE, Good Luck & Good Hunting.

MikeK--

Here's a link with some tips that got me up and running a few years ago. Read through Charles's tips.

If I can learn to run the Explorer II, anyone can!
