New F4

Got my new Fisher F4 today from Gettysburg Electronics. Small learning curve switching modes and ground balancing but I think I'm really going to like it when I get used to it. The pinpointing is dead on. This is a step up over my BHQDII of which pinpointing was not as accurate although I did find my lost wedding ring and a musket ball with the BH.

I'm sure you will love it.. the more you learn it the more powerful it gets, I've had mine for four months or so and I still discover little subtle things about it..

Had mine for about 3 months now, found over $400.00 USD with it.

It's a great metal detector, under rated from what I can tell. As others have said that have one, it's spot on with pinpointing the object. I thought my BH Legacy 3300 was good, but the F4 is even better. It's also great to use on the beach, not had any problems in the dry or wet sand, even in the water up to a foot in depth. (I use rechargeable batteries in mine - get over 8 hours from them which is plenty for one day.)

Todays finds ........ from a school built in the late 1800's.

And a ring I found last week ...... has a hinged jaw.

wow $400 us thats alot of US currency in a short time.. Its taken me six months to pays the $1000 New Zealand dollar mark, and we have one and two dollar coins.

Most days here I can pull between $10 and $15 from a park / field. Most I've got is $22.00 over 4 hours. Good thing about the local parks here is that they get replenished very day, I have about 28 fields / parks to pick so the amount is endless every week. I spend 2 days @ 3 or 4 hours per day at a field and then move on to the next.

If you are pulling $10 to $15 in a few hours you must not be digging much trash and I assume you skip pennies too. What settings are you using?

All metal mode ... single tone mode .. then I switch over to ID the found signal ... both modes 3 or for bars on the power setting, never run it a max as it falses alot here with the soil. The 1 cent coins are far and few between here as are the nickels. As for the trash, I get my fair share of it from time to time, like chopped up soda / beer cans and foil etc.
