New Fisher F44

Well I bought a Fisher F44 the other day so I would have something new to play with and have had it out twice so far . I have the adjustments down pretty good but have to learn how to use that iron audio yet .
I dug a truck load of Bottle caps today they rang up like quarters most of the time they usually ring up like zinc pennies on all my other machines I have . I did end up with 12 coins for $1.05 . I was detecting in a park where the trash was plenty especially those pesky bottle tops and pull tabs , I had a nel sharpshooter on it today . Just going to take me awhile to learn all these features like the iron audio .

I do have a question does the Iron audio work in all modes or just in custom mode , it seemed I could hear it working when I was in jewelry and coin modes also but not sure ?

If you keep the original coil on or any of the concentric coils in the F family, the number of bottle caps you find should drop drastically. Bottle caps ID in the high range indeed but just lift the coil up 2-4 inches off the ground when you get a high reading and the number should drop by 9 or 10 and then become extremely erratic or just disappear while lifting the coil further.

I think iron audio works in all modes. It's not specified in the manual if it works in all modes. It only works at volume levels higher than 9 though.

ok thanks I was running the volume at 17 without head phones on today . my machine came with the 11 inch DD coil as a stock coil and I bought a smaller sharpshooter later , but both are DD coils .
I got tired of digging all those bottle caps and switched to the other modes and finally stayed at the coin mode and it quieted down as far as the bottle caps and trash targets .

Thanks for the info I will try your suggestion.

I forgot the F44 is sometimes sold with the 11 DD in the states. In Canada I never saw one sold with anything else than the stock 11" concentric teardrop coil.

I really like custom mode. You can set up the audio the way you want it depending on targets and what you like to hunt for.
