New Fisher

I am a CZ20 owner that has moved to England. As much as I love my CZ20, one of its weaknesses is small hammered coins. Anybody have advice on a Fisher that would be suited to finding small hammered on fairly mineralized ground. Something similar to the 20 in a "land" package? I've been looking at the CZ70Pro. I'm a die hard Fisher fan, but there are so many great new Fisher detectors out there it's hard to choose. Thanks in advance for any opinions/feedback.

I had the opportunity to watch the new 3-D demonstrated at the FMDAC meeting in Shreveport by its creator and was a not convinced until we went outside and tested it away from the inside building interference. Tom Dankowski easily picked up half dimes, 3cents and other really thin silver at 11-16" air testing. this was with the sensitivity at 5-6. while at the same time id'ing pulltabs and iron with ease. The first remark my friend made was WOW! I sure could have used that when I went to England last year to hunt. I am a diehard Minelab EXll user but that demo even made me order one. I will definately find a place in my arsenal for this one. I think they (fisher and Tom D.} got it right for the old small thin coins so difficult to find. I will give more feedback I hope next week when one is in my hands.

I have a CZ7a Pro, the predecessor of the CZ 70 and I think it works great in my soil conditions which are mineralized. I think the CZ 70 would work well for you and has a splash proof case as well. HH

Ive air tested mine and it seems to do better in the ground than in an airtest. Ill try it with a ruler, but Id guess it gets about 12" on a silver quarter.
Thats with a correct tone/meter ID.
Neil

12" on the thin silver, 3 cent / half dime, 14-16 on quarter and halves, I thought it was a trick but he repeated and sure enough, same results outside air tests. My Ex ll couldn't come close, but its very poor in air test and much better in old ground. Should be getting my machine, Tom D. tested it before he sent it, so I know according to him barring shipping damage it should work similar--we'll see.

Basically a CZ20 is just a land CZ locked in a salt mode..CZ70, CZ5, CZ6A, CZ6, CZ7, CZ7A and CZ7A pro are good options digital models along with the 6 and 6A offer weather resitant features which may be to your liking...As the above mentioned are not locked in a salt mode they may just offer that extra to satisfy you...

Here's my 2 cents worth....I have a new CZ 70 PRO
for about 2 weeks now, and have already sent 3 items
in to Mark Parker (W&E Treasures) for ID purposes.
Two are silver, and one is a brass or bronze hard times token (?). I found all in trashy hard ground
in our old local park amongst mucho trash, because
I dug all relic frequency signals (800 khz)...I also found one wartime silver nickel, and a large solid brass "Statue of Liberty" key ring holder, complete with Emma Lazarus' sonnet on the New Colossus (ie)
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses
etc." This also was very old, but cleaned up very nicely, it is something I will certainly treasure.

forgot to mention, I found most of them with the
five inch coil.....

I love the 5in coil on my cz70. The sucker pulls up stuff in even the trashiest of parks.
I also have a 10.5in coil on order for my new found love of beach hunting. Sand and I are now the best of friends even tho I need to drive a good hour + 2 tolls to be in the thick of it.
Come on the southern summer... <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

Thought I might run into you down there. Turnout wasnt too good, but the weather was perfect for the hunt.
I just started putting some time into the CZ3D and its really an impressive machine. Sounds like your doing well with the CZ70.
You going to be in Belmar for the hunt in Oct?
Neil

Do you remember if that was in autotune or in disc mode? I know this machine gets deep, youll be impressed with it when you get it.

I'll see you there, good buddy.....I tried the CZ 70
on Seabright Beach last week, it works excellent in the wet sand mode (as do all CZ's). I also use the
ID EXCELL, but since I got the ultra-quick responding CZ 70, it kind of took over as my main hunt machine...Matt

Sounds like a winner to me...I already dig 10+ inches
at some beaches in Jersey with the 8 inch coil,
which is enough for me....by the way, Keith, where
do YOU search? Matt

Matt,
I particularly love the beaches at the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia tho I tend to stick to the parks and homesites in Brisbane due to the distance. Alot of tourists come through here and love to deposit stuff to the surf god. A couple of negative tides are coming up and the cz is getting antsy. :>
Keith

Hey, steve. Cz-7 and CZ-7a are the same electronics as the CZ-20. I own both of these machines and am very happy with them. They both go deep.
CZ-70 should also be similar to CZ-7, although I've never used one.
