New Garrett gtp 1350 pinpointing question?

Hi i recently traded my xterra 70 for a garrett gtp 1350. Im wondering since its used like new. Is it normal on the gtp 1350 when pinpointing to be a bit eratic like it wants to jump to target sizing or even does jump at times? And is pinpoint signal sometimes off or acts shaddy like it reads and sometimes doesnt read well? H mm wonder if need more practice?

I am wonering if oerhaps you have the profiling on while you are hunting. This is a no-no. It will squawk and try to size your target while you hunt. Always shut it off (hit that pinpoint button) after you have sized your target. Good luck! ( you also might want to review the instructional manual.)

Im still getting used to my 1350 but I will try to help. Mine doesnt act eratic while pinpointing. It may not be consistent while detecting depending on the target, how its positioned as well as the speed of my swing. I may get a signal then sweep the spot again and not get the signal everytime depending on what the target is and how high my sensitivity is set, but when Im pinpointing its 100%. Are you holding the button down while using the pin pointing feature? That was a mistake I was making in the beginning. Also forgetting to turn off the profiling feature got me a couple times.

Anyway, for what its worth I think with some practice you will love this detector. I have this and also had a GTI2500. I liked the 1350 better and sold the 2500. I just couldnt get as comfortable with the 2500 as I am with the 1350.

He may have the sensitivity to high also. The 1350 is touchy on that one. And maybe he ain't backing all the way off the target, pressing pinpoint, and going back over the target.
