Hello All:
I've been prowing around the back yards of some of the forums ( Katz do that you know) and checking things out. Of all the forums I've visited this one seems the most informative. There are alot of experienced people here with good information. The other forums are ok but are more chit chatty. Thats ok too, but when your really wanting to hear from experienced people who have been detecting for years, this Forum is the place to be. Findmall has real substance!

I read the announcements about another forum PMing people to join their site. I know the forum your talking about and the person you call Larry. His forum is about on par with the many others out there but when you get down to the nitty gritty its all fluff and no real substance. At present they bost 850 members! Now thats alot of people swinging metal detectors. I bet after their membership drive is over and done with, and someone walks away with their free detector being given away, almost two thirds of the so called new members (who probably have no interest in metal detecting at all) will vanish from the forum. What these people are doing is contacting all their friends and those peoples friends asking them to "help a poor boy out. Theres no obligation to do anything! Just become a member and say who sent you." They are all just fluff and when the contest is over the new forum will settle down to a few dedicated members posting their finds. Just wait and see if I'm not wrong.

I have an old Raido Shack detector. I'll soon be changeing over to the Ace 250 detector. I saw an old boy in the park Saturday with one. He let me handle it for awhile and I am amazed at how easy it is to operate. The old radio shack detector will be in a garage sale, real soon!

The Very Best to all!

I started with one of those years ago..Finally gave to a boy for him to play with.
Have been using the ACE for about a year with the sniper coil.Great finder of things.
Also using four others at one time or another.
Good choice the ACE as your first detector you'll find much once you master the machine.
People on the forum are very helpful and willing to help.
At the start use the coin mode and sensitivity at four bars.

Welcome to the forum...

Welcome aboard bud. Yeah we're big on informative here. This used to be the Garrett Classroom ( with me as the teacher ) before it became just the Garrett Forum and we've been here many years. You're getting a great machine and once you get the hang of it it will reward you well. We'll be looking forward to your success and pics of your finds. If you have any problems this is the place to come for answers. Good luck.
