New old spot

Hey there good people, just recently got permission to dig a new old spot on a farm here close to home. The old farmer told me that every time he drives through this one field, he can see pottery pieces on the ground. I had to check it out closer. while diggin there, i found the foundation of the old house(almost completly covered by briars)so i hunted in what i think is the front yard. All of these flat buttons came from there, and i found about 8 more last evening. So far i found 4 coins there also, one being a colonial conn.copper.
The pottery schards are in about every hole that i dig.I am thinking of setting up the sifter there after i get done cherry pickin. MINELAB ROCKS, i had a friend watch me find an old coin, and he wanted to give it a try. He dug three buttons in about 20 mins. HH all......................................Ed.

Has anyone seen one of these? What is it?
I was greated with this find.
