was out this morning in another town close to where we live and seen an old home that was abandoned. the realtor sign in the yard had the name of a good friend of mine so i called and asked if i could hunt it. he said no problem have a blast. got home and looked the house up on our gis map data service and found out it was built in 1913. its a huge home and maybe the folks who built the house lost some of their coins. cant go until early sunday morning but im chomping at the bits. will post some pics of the old house and if im lucky maybe i can have some pics of some nice old coins to boot. ready to get out the explorer2 and the new 10x12 sef coil i got and give it a go. also plan to use the coinstrike with the 8inch coil and see how it does. have a nice day all and happy hunting.

That sounds like a blast. I just recently got permission to hunt a few properties myself.

Can't wait to see what u get!!

HH and good luck

well went to the house this morning for a bit. has been raining off and on all night but got in a short hunt in between the showers. didnt use my explorer2 but chose the coinstrike instead. did manage to find a 1946 rosie in great condition and a very small old childs cap gun. its no bigger than my thumb and has rr on the side. i think maybe its a red ryder model. the trigger still pulls back. will post pics later and maybe someone can help me identify if the gun is a red ryder and maybe help with what year they think it may be. thanks all and happy hunting.

you should pick a decent-sized area of that yard and hit it as hard as you can with that Coinstrike/8" coil setup...hunt it until you're sure you gotten everything...then slowly go over the same area with your Explorer/10x12 SEF, and let us know the results. my bet is you'll find some deepies with the SEF that you missed the first time through

I wish I could line up a few new spots myself. Good luck
