This was my first pinpointer so I cant compare it, but...
I've had mine 6 mths now...can't imagine m.d. without it now.
Best thing about it I think is that the beeps speed up the closer you get to the target, guiding you in the right direction....and when it is a constant tone you are right on it.

I use a 1 inch long section of bike tyre tube and slide it over the propointer speaker- it serves 2 purposes - to quieten it when I want it to be quiet.
- and I have tied some thin elastic about a yard long to the tube and the other end to the holster...so its attached to my belt and that saves me leaving it behind.
I swear I'd forget my head if it wasn't screwed on .
