New Quattro Owner (nearly)

Hi all
Still waiting for my Quattro to arrive but her indoors says I must wait till Christmas before I can have it anyway:cry:
I have spent hours studying different detectors before I decided on the Quattro all though by going second hand I thought if I didn't get on with it I haven't lost to much cash. I have read loads of good reports but I keep reading where users have given up with the quattro and some have even slagged it off ! I was wondering if because its my first serious detector will I be at an advantage as I will not have pre conceived Ideas and not have any machine to compare it with ? just a thought, anyway I cant wait till Xmas I feel like a big kid again :detecting: merry Christmas to you all

Mskeng, you are a big kid again, just like all of us, I believe. I know I felt that way when I was waiting for mine from UPS. I couldn't hardly wait, but I had used other detectors before and therefore had something to compare it with. As far as I'm concerned, none of them could even come close to the Quatro. I did a ton of research too, before I bought mine, and I believe that's a worthwhile thing to do with any major purchase and I'm sure glad I did. I think your gonna love it and remember that there's always gonna be a few people that don't like a certain product that they own. I would go on what the majority are saying, and unless I'm not reading this forum right, most of these people are happy with the Quatro. My main advice is: DON'T GET IMPATIENT WITH IT. Give it a couple weeks of study and practice and (for sure), buy Andy Sabisch's book Mastering the Quatro. It's worth every penny in my opinion. He talks about cross saving, which is one thing the owners manual doesn't mention. Let us know when you get it how you like it. I'm all ears, for one.:|

I am new to the Quattro as well. Build yourself a nice target garden so you can understand the sounds your Quattro is telling you.
