Just a quick Hello,
Only had my Safari a short while, still trying to master it. I have just ordered Andy's book, by what I have been reading this should help alot.
I have attached a couple of recent finds, from near farmland near to Windsor Castle. The coin is a George 3rd Cartwheel penny 1797. I am stuck with what the other item is, I would be greatful for any ideas.

Happy Hunting

Hello Jellboy, welcome aboard the Safari forum. There are a lot of good folks here that can answer any questions you may have.
Looks like you are doing well with your Safari so far, those are some great finds. What is the second piece made of? Looks like sterling. I am assuming it is about the same size as the penny? Would love to know the numbers and depths of your finds as well.
Looking forward to more finds from across the pond!

pump it up! a place with thousands of years with metal, lots of good stuff, and lots of trash!

Bunker,
Hi thanks for the kind words. You are correct the item is sterling, and is just a little bit bigger than the penny. It gave a reading of 35 and was about 3" deep. The coin read 37 and was 7" deep, both items were in the same field within 15 feet of each other. Hopefully if the weather is fine I will be out again tomorrow, and let you know if I have any more finds.

I think Andy's writing should be the Owners Manual. Then, if the manufacture wanted to add something, they could put it in the back. I haven't read his newest book yet, but the ones I do own and have read are worth the price, usually for just one of the tips.
