found a 1902 O Barber half the ground was so hard i hit the coin still looks great! it made my day.

That is a gorgeous coin! Too bad about the nick. It's hard to believe what the screaming signal is saying - I always expect a big aluminum chunk, but ya just never know.

Wow, that coin has great detail too!!

I would have been bummed if I nicked a coin like that also, but we all do it!! The ground is pretty hard in my area too, and I keep ricing wheats and common mercs/rosies every now and then. Can't wait for softer ground!
