New Sovereign ?

Well, Minelab have surprised all with the imminent release of a new model Explorer. When will they release a new Sovereign Update, and what goodies will it have.

I found myself asking the same question, after I saw details of the new detector. It won't be a new Explorer but a whole new detector. Looking at the picture of it that was posted in the classifieds, it seems that it may actually be something like an Explorer in a light package (Finally!). Sounds like the release date is Friday, with the announcement possibly tomorrow.

I thought too that the next detector would be a new Sovereign with maybe a lighter and more balanced detector, but I guess the biggest sales is the Explorer so they are always trying to improve on it. This is a new Explorer but redesign I feel as the coil I beleive will work on either and why thy come up with the new Pro coil as the found it work so much better than what they had before for coils.
I would like to see a new Sovereign come out too as many of us knows what this detector can do and we like it, but can become lighter in weight.

I think it's a bit too early for a Sovereign but I could be wrong. How long has the GT been out? 2-3yrs?
What's the normal lifespan of a Sovereign before the next model is typically released?
