I did a 3 hour hunt on my neighbors 525 acre property. I hit a overgrown area next to a sulfer spring , known to have been a pre 1920's park and a onetime gypsy camp.
Well this field is fenced and cross fenced and is one of the few areas that the landowner does not cut for hay, so grass is really high in some places it is taller than my 6'1" tall frame.
I fought thru the taller grassy areas to get to small patches that allowed me the slightest swing of the coil.I dug about a half dozen targets - the usual screw top, foil lids, and crushed tin cans were all mine.
Moving closer to the creek by a huge pecan tree , I got a solid 81 reading from all directions of swing, 5 inches down I found a really nice 1924 mercury dime with no mint mark.
Learning the t2 is pretty cool, several times I passed my shovel over the coil to make sure the detector was on because it was running sooooo quiet! And I was running at 90 sens and disc 5. The new software in the re-released t2 is on a whole new level of stability. In another part of the property because the detector was dialed up so hot- I found myself chasing the smallest bits of lead , about the size of an pencil eraser head, that was pretty frustrating. But it is my 3rd silver dime in 2;weeks from this property so I will take it.
