New Tesoro battery question

This isn't the most important question in the world but it is something that I have always wondered and I guess ya won't know unless you ask. As you all know Tesoro sends a battery with all their new detectors, I have had a number of used and new Tesoro's and every new one that I have bought came with a Panasonic battery. Nothing against the Panasonic batteries I think they are very good, was just curious if any of you got a new Tesoro with another brand of battery.

That's funny Steve.

Your question had me scratchin my head. I recieved my Vaquero back from Rusty not to long ago as the speaker went bad and he returned it with a battery....and a new set of headphones at no charge (Thanks again Rusty) ! I just had to get up and go look and it's a Panasonic. Guess they have stock. HAHA

Manufacturers, who supply a battery with a detector, will usually select a decent alkaline battery for their production inventory just the same as they do other components, and that is usually the bulk price offered by a supplier. I have usually seen manufacturers use Panasonic batteries, and I also see a lot of Nova (White's) in the recent past, and a few other labels. Usually I get decent battery life/run-time out of them, and I also stock a supply of batteries for my personal detector use that are not the "big two" brands. Those would be Duracell and Energizer.

For years I have used the Costco 'Kirkland' brand with excellent results, and they have been very affordable. I used to buy them for $9.something in the 48 pack, and through the more recent years they went to $10 something, then $11.something, and now I think a 48 pack is $12.99. That's still only 27.065

I am just glad that I didn't ask a question that might of made Monte go into details :poke:, just kidding Monte your explaining things in a non compicating way is why so many of us has learned so much from you. We are all lucky to have you doing what you do & saying what you say. Thank you for the great reply to my question.

Does anyone know of a place to recycle used batteries? I have a pile of old Panasonics that I don't want to just throw in the trash.

When you SOLD ALL OF THEM, which battery did you put in them?

What's the difference if you use Alkeline or Lithium etc on the metal detectors?

Isn't power power and as long as it's getting it's 9volts it should be good?

Never keep one long enough to have to change the battery ;).

The only Tesoro to worry about is the Compadre-according to allcav. Some of the rechargeables w/9.6 voltage rating can go too high at the initial start after their recharge and it's best to use a true 9v. battery=and thus the 8.6 v. rechargeable I use in mine from Tenergy.
