I bought a Garrett 400 this summer and I am loving it!! I hoping someone can help me understand what ground mineralization is. I live in upstate NY on a farm dated back to the early 1800s. I have found a lot of things. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

A simple description is that ground mineralization is ground that has conductive or magnetic materials in it the can cause a response or affect the response of your metal detector. Soils that have a lot of salt (as in ocean beaches) or a lot of iron compounds (such as magnetite) are examples.
