New to me F75

Hey fellas...just wanted to pop in and say hey. I just got a F75 in the mail today...haven't had a chance to use it yet, because it is raining cats and dogs. I traded a guy my old set up for the F75 because he wanted to try something different. I mainly use an E-Trac now and got this as a back up. Initial response to the machine is ....I can't believe how fricking light it is compared to the E-Trac...lol. So if you guys and gals have any tips for using an F75 I'm all ears.

I am in the same boat. Just got a slightly used F75 SE. Raining here too, so I have only turned it on in the garage and the shop where I got it. After eleven years using the Explorer this will be quite a change for me. The weight of the Explorer is now limiting the hours I can comfortably hunt.

This looks like a cool machine. I will be testing it out this weekend. Maybe we can follow each others progress and share tips. Best of luck!

My big brothers should be along shortly to help you with some F75 tips..The lightness will keep you out longer, let you cover more ground comfortably, and should add to your overall positive experience. I am sure you have been following some of the fellows who post here? Amazing amounts of old silver, great relics, etc that they find...I look forward to both of your future posts!

DE Mode .. For coin and most other hunting. SPECIAL NOTE: USE PRESET FOR FIRST FEW HUNTS

Sens at 85 in most areas
Disc at 15
I like the three tone high. It allows nickles and some gold rings to id high sound.

Many users like two tone only... but, since your used to the E-trac with multiple tones you should like the three or even 4 tone

There is a multi tone available, that gets a little busy when your in a park setting with lots of junk... It does sound off well on Silver...

When swinging ..remember the F75 likes a little speed and a shoulder to shoulder sweep.. This gives best ID results.

One other thing.. You are going to hear many, many, targets with the F75 you do not hear with any other detector except the T2 series. It is so fast on response you hit them all........... The only thing you can do if this isn't to your liking is raise Discrimination ... Myself I use more disc., and get less id..Yet I still find 90% or better of the good targets. I am not one that worries about finding rings, so you can adjust the 75 the way you want for those objects.

You can read about tips til the cows come home.... There are alot of them out there lol. If your going to begin searching in areas that have moderate to high EMI Id recommend starting to run in DE mode sens 45-50 disc 21 tones 2F. Low to no EMI and you could probably start at 65 - 75 sens.
Also,selecting the proper operating frequency and getting the ground balance is, IMO as much key with this machine than the rest of the settings. a couple of tricks that may help would be to fire up your machine and crank up the sensitivity (90 ish), go thru the 7 freqs and select the quietest one then back the sens back down to a stable level (will depend on area) find a clean spot to ground grab, get your setting then manually bump your GB up 1 or 2 numbers.
after you try some of those "hot" settings you've probably already read about.... and your ready to wrap her around the nearest tree, go to the above settings and have some fun getting to know your new machine. After spending some time in different environments it will be easier to start bumping up your sens more and dropping your disc. HH
