Hi all, just bought a deus xp with remote etc just wondered what settings people are finding the best. And any tips would be much appreciated, I've upgraded from the makro Racer 2 I've injured my elbow so needed a lighter machine, thanks

Here's a good starting point. Watch all of these videos, read the manual and get Andy's book.

Some bottom line info.

For deeper coins,,sens at or above 93.
Reactivity 2 or lower
4khz bad for nickels, 8 is ok,,12khz blasts them,,18khz is pretty good too.

Silencer setting of 0 or -1 preferred

ID on deeper coins-- you likely won't get true VDI reading on meter,,,will read a lot of times in the 90s,,with a sliver of horseshoe showing.

Disc setting in milder ground not overly key,,but if you have medium or higher minerals,,disc levels of 2.5 using full tones,,works well for me.

Don't be afraid to bury some coins a various depths and experiment-- Deus does like tilled ground better than most others too,,,meaning what you will see on freshly buried,,not too far off the mark with what you will see in the field.
