Wow, Eric, your new machine sounds great...Has anybody had the opportunity to hunt Arizona ground with it?...I really like the idea of its compatibility with other coils like,Coiltek, Nuggetfinder, etc....Does it work with both mono and DD versions of the available coils?...Way to go!!! I'm looking forward to learning more...Cheers, Ron

Hi Uncle Ron,
Yes, the GS5 works with both mono and DD coils. I've not tested all the sizes, but the Minelab 11in mono and DD are good, plus the Coiltek 14in DD. As long as the inductance is around 300uH, the resistance does not matter because the constant current circuit compensates. If necessary a small adjustment can be made to the sample pulse delay via the external control. An older Minelab mono did not like 10uS, but was OK at 15uS. The DD's all worked fine at 10uS.
Eric.
