Please keep us posted!!! They've had your machine for 3 weeks Now.. Well.. probably 2 weeks "Excluding weekends so far....
It'd be nice to see the turnaround time that's taking place in IL....
If My Company was getting a Bad wrap.. I too would say "Don't believe everything that you hear" "Wouldn't you"... I don't play the Smoke screen type of deal....
I waited 3 months for mine to be serviced again.... and Only to get it back... To be worse than when I sent it in....
Hopefully IL, Is doing better...
But, If your keeping track... and Reading ALL.. Well... The Top 4 TH'er Forums.. you'll see many peoples posts where their machines have been sent in Numerous times for the same repairs...
Some are very lucky not to have any issues...
Keep in mind all off the "People" who Do Not Post On line, and the people who just bought their machines or those who have no Clue as to how One works.. and
bought on just because they saw someone using one on the Beach and decided that they too wanted one....
When, I called and spoke to "X" at Minelab.. they just thought that I was someone who had "Absolutely" NO experience with an Excal....
Until Our conversation went in depth..
and played it off like my Battery was bad... SORRY.... but, Their may be a SUCKER born everyday... But Not here......
I know my Machine Backwards and Forwards.. this isn't my First Rodeo...
so don't play me like it is.......
Fix it properly !!!!
This isn't some Kelly-co Cobra Beach Magnet throw away machine...
Hire some QUALITY HELP.. and Or a Quality Control Person... that Tests the machines "AFTER" the TECH fixes em......
Sorry for the Bitter post... But enough is enough....... It's my Hard earned money that I spent to Purchase this machine.....
You would figure that you would only have to OWN one of em...
They are AWESOME machines... When they Work..... But you have to own at least 2 of em... Cause you'll be left with one of em 85% of the time while the other is being repaired...
Dude, That's AWESOME for a company..... why just sell one to a customer.... when they'll buy 2... and keep sending them in for repairs....
Think about it...
Their supposed to last for more than 1 year.. before you have to sent them in for a Complete overhaul.....

Ok with all the bad press Minelab is getting on the repairs I thought I would send them an email with my concerns. First off they have only had mine 3 weeks. I received a phone call with in a couple of hours of my email. The manager told me not to have any concerns about the repair and the time factor. He checked and it was on the line.I was told 4 to 6 weeks and that it will be done in that time. I also felt they have seen and read all the post as he told me don't believe everything you read. Which got me thinking. Not pointing any fingers here. I recalled a guy who told me another machine I had wasn't any good,told me to visit his Detector store for a better detector. I went and found he was not a dealer for the machine I had.That's why it wasn't any good. You see here if you sell X,Y,Z detectors then Brand Q sucks. So what better way to promote what you sell then to post bad things about other brands,or have others post! Maybe all the people bitching work for _ _ _ _ _ '_ or maybe I work for Minelab, and I don't! Point being don't believe everything you read. I am pleased with the results from Minelab thus far, I will see how this plays out. steve
