Hello from Oregon. My name is Earl, and no, didn't get any money from that show. After years of looking, watching other's having fun on the beaches here in Oregon, I decided to bite the bullet and ordered an ETP and Garrett pro pointer from KellyCo. Looking forward to trying my luck, and learning as much as I can from you, the pros. Looking forward to trying it out on some of the old homesteads and wagon trails around Oregon here (Lewis and Clark came this way). But I'd be just as happy to find something - other than junk.

My goodness, what ever took ya so long to join the party???-----WELCOME ABOARD!---------Del from Oregon

Hahahaha , well you couldn't have pick a better detector to start with !! HH

I will help in anyway I can.

Others here helped me with the ETP and I will pay it forward.

By the way Hank68 has got that unit figured out!!!!! I think he's in love:blush:

Welcome to the forum.I've only had my ETP for a couple a months and still learning it.Its a great machine.Good luck.HH

You will love the ETP. It is an AWESOME detector. Since you are new to the hobby, I would offer my suggestions on use. Run the sensitivity as high as you can without having it "chatter". You will know if you have the sens set too high, it goes a bit bonkers. (normal) Run the desc at 00 until you figure the machine out a bit. Run the volume at 10. This will make iron targets sound muffled but it will still tell you it is there. Dig everything and notice the numbers on the screen and learn what each number is telling you. if you are looking for coins only, you can set the desc at 40 or so and go from there. I would think that the ETP will work fine on dry sand but using it on the wet beach could be an issue. If you get a signal on your screen that looks good on one pass and doesnt look good on the second swing, dig that target because there is probably iron next to a good target. Be sure to check all of you holes after finding what you thing is in there. It is very common to find multiple targets in the same hole. Ask anyone here for answers about your ETP and I am sure that they will help. Happy hunting!
P.S- We ALL find junk and lots of it. Do NOT get discouraged.

Thanks to all for the welcomes. I'm sure I'll have questions as I learn how to use the ETP, and with hunting in general.

Earl
