Having spent way more time trying to figure out which detector to purchase over
the last new car I bought, I thought I'd ask you guys for a little help. I've only owned
one detector in my life and bought it new several years ago. It was your basic White's
machine and I used it many times with some success.
I have now decided to upgrade and have narrowed my search down to the Teknetics
Delta 4000. The problem I'm having with actually purchasing this unit is that since I
know very little about detectors and have only done online comparisons, I'm wondering
if this detector will do a good job or is it worth spending more money to get the higher
priced models?
I live in SW Missouri where the ground is pretty rocky and if you can dig a few inches
without hitting rock, it's a miracle. So I'm not sure if the technical makeup of the higher
priced units will make that big of a difference when hunting in my region.
Is there much of a difference in the depth that a target is located with the Delta over
the more expensive units or is that mainly up to which coil you use? Also, it seems
that the Delta is easier to use and set up compared to the other models but I guess
with experience that wouldn't be an issue. Anyways, any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
