Just got my used T2. My first impression was how light and well balanced it is. Haven't had the chance to go out and try it(way too hot) Did run coins across it and like the tones. I mostly coin hunt so if you have any suggestions my ears are wide opened.

Your going to hear targets other machines did not detect..... You may even think the T2 is acting up.. It's not..it's doing what it is supposed to do..detecting targets..

run it tame with low sense to start with, dont be afraid to try different settings to find what works best for you the t2 is not the best for target id so dig all good sounding signals to start with most gold will read in the low to mid 50s i got a silver dime a few weeks ago and it gave a 78 signal same as a pennie also nickels will read anywhere from the mid 30s to low 60s good luck hh

if you don't already have some get yourself a nice set of quality headphones . I prefer the Sunray Pro Golds . Good choice on the Garretts Pro-pointer . Keep that coil flat to the ground also , it makes a lot of difference . You did good getting yourself a T2 it's a superb all-around detector and like you've already noticed very user friendly .

One of the best ways I've found to pick out and separate targets in junky areas and also to avoid double beeps is to use a very short sweep. Sweeps so short the center rib just passes over the target. For me at least, ID suddenly trued up and that's really the key to pick out the goodies in a junk-infested area. But it's also useful just for checking ID on any signal you might come across.

My old method for checking a target involved sweeping the entire coil width out beyond the target itself on each coil side. That translates to a sweep that's 18 to 24 inches wide. That can take in a lot of territory and the T2 will hit on everything beneath and it can also give a double beep as some objects pick up on the coil edges.

Getting it down to just the middle section over the target makes a lot of difference in how a signal gets interpreted and displayed.

After discovering it on my T2, I found it also works well on my Bounty Hunter machines. Maybe a lot of hunters already do it this way as second nature, but I've never read of anyone doing it that way. So try it, if you swing wide as I always did.

You certainly wont regret getting the T2 its a really great detector, over here in the UK we tend to use tones alot more rather than rely on the screen,we tend to use 2+ and listen for low grunts which is usually iron and a high pitch tone is usually a very good target and then double check the screen and if its over 40 that will confirm its a diggable but if it bounces from say 80-40 that is usually iron.

These are the settings i use 75sens,4disc,2+ with the SEF12x10 coil some may run it much hotter but my T2 runs as smooth as you ever could want it and i cannot see the logic of a detector running erratic and giving your ears a right bashing.
