Hello, I have been a gold hunter at heart for a long time but just never had the chance. Now that i have the chance I am scared of getting too much money wrapped up in things that don't work. Can I get some direction and advice on things to get started right? Thank you!

Newbie;
you should clarify "gold Hunting"...if you mean gold nugget hunting there are several good to excellent GOLD FORUMS such as arizonaoutback.com and nuggetshooter.com... read all the old posts as your question has been asked many times...by the way buying and reading a few books or going to a local club meeting is a very good way to start...not everyone has, or gets a lasting case of GOLD FEVER..
best regards
fred

Thanks Fred, by gold hunting I do not mean nugget shooting, I have localized two gold veins in different areas down to approx 20 acres, I am wanting to buy/build something that I can set up in a rugged valley and have it tell me what is all there, how much and how deep. Even if I have to buy several piecies of equipment and work them in turn.
