Well, kinda new.......Picked up the exp II Sept of last year. Have heavily hunted an old ballfield still in use. I believe that it was also the site of local fair in 1900.
Started hunting it last spring, dug a few mercs and some clad, couple wheats, etc, using the other popular top o the line unit of another make.
When I went back in with the ML, I found an additional 50 old wheats, more mercs, barb halves, 1800's canadian half, indian(s), you get my point. I upgraded to the SEF and went out today.
I dug wheats at around 8" consistently. Heard many faint whispers from the 12" sef and they paid off with my first b dime and nickel signals were rock solid, as I found my first buff today, '29. Got another silver rose which "jumped" out at me leaving me wondering how I missed it before. Also scored a silver Jeff that came out at 6" deep, nice and shiny.
I feel confident that it's a nice coil, but the factory coil is also very good.
Whats really strange is the fact that I hunted this ballfield the day before, and didn't get one hit. (was REALLY windy out)
The wheat dates are '17, 18, 25, 26, 38, 44.
Fistfulladirt

I think we all have wondered how or why coins just seem to pop out even after we have hunted the same spots over and over. I give credit to Minelab and their great metal detectors, but I also believe that there is something else beyond our control that is making these coins that we missed in the past now being detectable. Whatever it is that is making these coins pop out, I hope it never stops for any of us who have experienced the same situation that you and I have both experienced. Good luck on your next outing. HH.
