Night Hunt Yields Silver Half Dime.

First, I'm sorry about that shameful title.

Couldn't sleep. My lovely neighbors saw to that. The temp was low so I busted out my cold weather gear and headed to a quiet spot in the country. My angry feelings disappeared in the field which I knew they would. As I finished the sun was just starting to rise.

The good stuff is a Greg Maddux medal or token, 6 wheats, a war nickel, a 5.3 g sterling religious medal for the Archangel St. Rafael, and my silver half dime. I've found a lot of chopped up coins but never silver before. It was deep and not easy to find in the dark. I looked for the other piece or pieces to no avail and called it quits. The war nickel was also deep and gave a super strong nickel signal. The religious medal was real deep too and gave a nice strong quarter signal and was only two steps from the war nickel. Middle of the hunt, btw. Thought for sure it was a silver quarter when I saw it's edge but was equally happy with the medal. Clad totals were low but that is to be expected hunting at night

I got home, had a hot shower, and crashed until the chimps downstairs started swinging around again. There is a big festival in town today so traffic is going to keep me home even though I feel like going out again.

Chris

Your opinion requested. How would you account for the half Merc? Would you count it as a silver dime?

Very nice finds ,I am going to have to try that night hunting. No one to bug you and I bet it is great.

Great finds!:thumbup:Congrats!
You asked for my opinion, Chris. I think you should go back and find the other half:rofl:Happy Hunting!:)

Chew a lot of good targets, heck one of our club members found an 18kt. engagement ring that battled a grasscutter and threw the diamond into eternity,,,,

Cool token, The dime is still a dime in my book.

For what it's worth.

Great hunt

I looked for it. It was either deeper than my 2500 would detect, got flung a long way from the piece I found, or was found by somebody else. If it is still there I'll get it someday.

Chris

I counted it as a dime and stuck it in my brag book. First silver coin after a run in with a mower.
