Night light idea

Member
The light is hooked to a momentary push button. The is good at night since the Quattro does not have a back light. Also it doesn't stay on all the time which makes batteries last longer.

I can highly recommend the solution shown below. Throws out lot of light, runs about 60 hours on AAA batteries, and is very lightweight. Wal*Mart for about $10.

The bulk of the night hunting I do is during the summer, when I hunt the night low tide at the beach every Friday and Saturday night. So 3AM hunts are the norm. I use my Excalibur for that and have I another setup I devised that took the place of my headlight. It works great and has a quick-release to allow use as a flashlight or whatever. I've submerged it with no problems either.

Mike,

I like that waterproof shaft light, where did you get it? The tag says Freewheelin? I don't have any of those around here. I will have to search the web.
I must have three or four lights two head versions(one is waterproof) one of those flat visor lights and my homemade 9V dry land shaft light. When I was at Virginia Beach in November working the mid-night low tide I was using a waterproof one around my thigh for when I kneel down it will light up the hole and one like you can get at Wal-Mart on my head.

Davy, I got it at a local bike shop (Freewheelin') but I figured there was enough info there in my picture to find it online...probably cheaper too.

You need to come out here and do some night low tide hunting this summer...it's pretty much smokin' then....a real "target-rich environment"! Right now though I would rather sit on a cactus than hunt our beaches, as "dead" doesn't do it justice.
