No audio with pinpoint?

Yesterday while detecting, I would get a good signal but sometimes when I would try to pinpoint it with the 250, it would show on the display, but I would either get no audio at all, or a very faint one I could hardly hear. I thought something was wrong with the headphones, but other signals I had no problem at all hearing the pinpoint sound. What gives? Does it indicate a false or a junk target or what?

Mine does that too sometimes. I guess if it's faint I assume that it's very deep. Or if I don't get any audio I will try from different angles. Usually I get it to produce a tone by experimenting. Good luck !!

mine does that then I just release the pinpoint and then press it again.....sometime i will have to do that multiple times

I know that on the GTI 2500, if you hit the pinpoint button while over, or very close to being over the target, it will do that. Move off to the side a bit, and hit the pinpoint button then move back to the target. I use that to my advantage to get really precise pinpointing, by hitting the pinpoint while very close to the target which causes the tone to have a very narrow sweep width. It may be the same for the ACE 250.

Yeah one should always move all the way off the target, hit and hold pinpoint, then move back over the target. Also the 250 will sometimes detect a target deeper than it can pinpoint it.

steve is right when your over the target and pinpoint it will do that
