Good evening all, managed to get back out to the ballfield again today for a couple of hours. I started off near the same area I hunted yesterday. My first coin target was a wheatie, cool! I started concentrating between all the iron grunts for the foil, nickel and pulltab signals in hopes for getting some more gold. Well I struck out on the gold today but did manage to find a nice sterling silver cross. I can't remember where it rang up as far as #'s are concerned but I was happy to see silver nonetheless. As it started getting dark I started hitting a few wheaties. I came across a very deep signal. I had the sensitivity maxed out and it barely gave a tone, but I did see an 80 / 81 come up every few swings. I dug a big wide plug hoping this could be a deep silver dime. Stuck the propointer in the hole and it sang off. Dug another 2 - 3 inches of dirt out and saw the edge of a coin, or so I thought. I eagerly grabbed it and saw that it wasn't a coin, but was a pin. Had some nice enamel color to it and its dated 1915. Cool! I ran the pro-pointer back in the hole and it had a faint signal. Dug another few inches of dirt out and was rewarded with the horseshoe and chain. I thought that was neat and maybe a good luck omen. Next deep dig was the eagle pin. Dug a few more wheats and picked up the ancient looking earring. It actually has a screw that tightens the earring to your ear. Almost like an ancient clip on earring lol.
All in all, not a bad day. The wheats are 16, 17, 24, 34, 44, and a no-dater. The clad count is 2 quarters, 2 dimes, 3 nickels and 8 pennies. Can't wait to get back out and get dirty again! HH
