Noise and Hookahs

I have the Airline 260R hookah. It has a 2.5 HP Honda. I hate the noise. I want more stealth. Talked with the manufacturer and told him I was diving in no more that 3-4' of water with a metal detector and how could I reduce the noise. I even contacted Honda, and their engines are quiet, to see if I couldn't somehow modify a muffler system so it'd be as quiet as one of the small generators Honda, Yamaha, etc. sell. Honda was not helpful. No suggestions not even data on how much back pressure you could use without causing problems in the engine.
I know that in my part of the country logger bandits go deep in the woods with a highly modified chainsaw and steal Cedar and then have it flown out by heli. They have somehow modified their saws so they are really quiet and won't draw unwanted attention. Wish I could find one of those guys and ask him how to put a siencer on my Honda.
The meat of this post is the manufacturer said I should try reducing the throttle speed, not run it wide open to supply the volume of air needed for two divers at 60', and run it just fast enough to give me the air I need in 3'. Yesterday I tried that. I can slow the RPM down on that engine to the point that is probably not going to get me thrown out of a swimming area unless I use it before (or after) 7:00. It provides all the air I need. I even tried the hyperventilation to see if I could draw it down. I couldn't do it. And...the pop off valve cycled much less often. It holds a little less than a quart of fuel and runs wide open about 1.5 hours before it drains the tank. I can't immagine how long it'll run just above the idle speed on a tank of fuel. Regards...Jim
