I don't think anything non-metallic will hold up to digging. You could probably make one out of carbon fiber...but to make it durable it might be pretty heavy. PVC will break, unless its soft dry sand. I drag my scoop from my belt. I do hate it when it hits the coil though. hh an gl -Joe
