NORMAL DIGITAL AND CROSS HAIR SPEED

markg

New member
NOTICED THE AUDIO IS VERY FAST AT RECOVERY.
LAID SEVERAL COINS ON THE GROUND AND 3" APART.
THE MACHINE SOUNDED ON EACH TARGET CORRECTLY AT BOTH SLOW AND VERY FAST SWEEPS.
I DID NOTICE THAT DIGITAL AND CROSS HAIR DID NOT UPDATE VERY FAST.
IN FACT I HAD TO ACTUALLY STOP OVER EACH TARGET TO GET THE MACHINE TO UPDATE.
IS THIS NORMAL?
I CHANGED THE RECOVERY TO FAST AND THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE DIGITAL AND CROSS HAIR SCREENS.

Mine does the same thing. Seems a bit sluggish to respond.

I often have to completely move the coil away to get it to register.

Will you fully explain this?

To improve this, take discrimination off, use TTF and you will see how nice its works.

The VID doesn't display until the threshold returns. After you locate your target raise your coil or move off to the side to get the threshold and the VID. All Explorers and the Etrac work this way.. Running your sensitivty too high so you get constant falsing or nulling and using a coil too big for conditions aggravate the situation. So, Keep your sensitivty set so the theshold returns and runs stable and move the coil away from target, to get the threshold and the VID...wildherre

Thanks for the tip
I am almost certain the audio is as fast as the Fisher F75. I was amazed at just how fast I could sweep over the targets and get an audio from each target.
Moving from the LTD over to the Explorer was a huge step, but I hope the SE will do well.
Now I just need to finds some deep silver to build my confidence.

Thats why most of us may take a glace at the screen.... but concentrate on the audio. I also use the NON screen movement to adjust my sensitivity. The screen moves based on the next target... but to much sensitivity and disc makes it HANG onto a target.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my PM.
