NOT ALL BARBERS END UP DEEP:clapping:

BACK IN 2OO2 I DUG THESE 3 BARBERS THAT WERE ONLY 3'' DOWN IN A GRASS PARKING LOT AT A FAIRGROUNDS:yikes:.ALL WERE WITHIN 6'' OF EACH OTHER. :surprised: NOW I'M PRETTY SURE SOMEONE DIDN'T PLANT THESES THERE FOR ME TO FIND. SO I THOUGHT ABOUT IT FOR A COUPLE DAYS. AND I CAME UP WITH .... THE ROAD GOING IN TO THE FAIRGROUNDS... I REMEMBERED THAT THE DITCH WAS DUG OUT AND REDID MONTH'S BEFORE HAND. SO THE DIRT MUST HAVE BEEN FEATHERED BACK TO WHERE I FOUND THESE SHALLOW BABY'S. ABOUT 20YARDS FROM THE DITCH. NOW THIS WAS 9 YEARS AGO, AND I CAN STILL GO TO THE EXACT SPOT I FOUND THEM. FUNNY HOW THAT WORKS HUH? WELL ENJOY THE PHOTO'S

Nice finds !

Hey , I was able to find those fairgrounds in about 30 seconds on my computer. :yikes: Good thing for you I don't live closer :detecting: .... Just thought I'd throw that out there in case you don't want everybody and their uncle honing-in on your good hunting spot.

YEAH THANKS DAVE, I FIGURED THAT WOULD HAPPEN. BUT IF THEY WANT TO BURN THE GAS THEY CAN. LOL THERE MITE BE A FEW KEEPERS LEFT THERE, AND MAYBE I CAN DO A HUNT WITH THEM. THANKS

Nice finds!!!!!! I live in Merrill and just got an Explorer 2. Want to get together sometime on a hunt?

Indeed not got a nice barber dime an inch deep on a sidehill and my buddy got a like seated dime a little further down the hill. Imagine. Water runoff and erosion caused them to be shallow...

Fill dirt can also be responsible for shallow old coins...so just because its shallow doesn't mean its clad...and those that investigate score the ones others walk over...

Ditto, a few years ago I pulled a barber dime from a inch down also. Mine was in a litlle depression on flat ground.
