I'm still trying to get used to the Dual Field and its dig it all tone.....i am not discouraged,I knew what i was getting into when i got it...My first times out where shoreline hunts and i soon found out that the shoreline is loaded with old crab trap pieces..like every step.Beach refurbishment/many years worth.Moving off the beach and into waist/ch east deep water i find the pieces of traps in fewer amounts. The other thing i think about is...what i have found so far..Ike dollar..cheap earrings/neck-less..ugly homemade ring...and the bracelet (Sterling)...are all things that other MDs with a discrimination might just pass up...did they?...all i see here are excals..the Ike would go off like a beer can,the earrings not a good tone, the ring is not silver, and the bracelet gives a pull-tab tid on my 705...So i feel like I'm digging others leftovers when i think about it too much...still not discouraged, rather be in the water than on land these days.
So today on a 4 hour hunt i got the bracelet,ugly ring,lure,shell neckless,26cents,earring...trash..

I look forward to more hunts this summer with unexpected finds in the scoop..HH bob.oz

Listen and learn the subtle differences in the tone... nails are a scratchy sometimes double hit... same goes with wire and sparkler sticks... I rarely if ever am fooled by nails with my DF... using a pulse you need a lot of patience but once you master it... you will find some deep gold and other goodies.

Thanks for the info craig...I do try to hear a difference in the tone, and dig others that i belive are the faint wispers that Cupajoe mentions in his posts...at this time all i can figure out is if the target is shallow or deep....got all summer to figure it out...I know with persistance and patience, that finds will come. Neat thing about the ring is that somebody made it and was proud enough of their work to wear it to the beach... Then loose for you to find.

TURNMASTER ,i do agree with you....a ring or any other piece of jewelry that somebody spent time crafting means alot to them, no matter how it looks.I always think of the how the person who lost any item that i find felt at that time they realize that its gone...there loss my my gain...but i feel there pain,it will never mean as much to me as it did to them....HH bob.oz
