Not much posting about the F19

I didn't get to hunt last week but will get some detecting time in the morning.

I know there has been some talk about the F19 depth. The question is, "Does the F19 have the same performance as the GoldBug Pro?".

To answer that I located my air test chart I made of the GoldBug Pro version 2.9 that I once owned. At that time I was comparing air test results with the F5.

I took that same chart and added my air test results of the F19. I used the same exact coils as before (my F5 coils) with the addition of the F19's 5x10 DD coil.

Back when I tested the GoldBug and F5, I had a very stable environment. I didn't have that this time. The EMI level has changed and the 11" DD coil chattered a bit at a 95 gain setting. The 5x10 DD coil also had some faint chatter. I had to stop at the point where I couldn't tell the difference between an actual target response and EMI chatter. But based upon my results with all three coils I believe the F19 and the Gold Bug Pro v2.9 have the same performance.

Anyway...here they are......All I'm trying to do is see how far away from the coil I can hear a response.....using Koss UR-30 headphones, mininum disc.....

Good post Mike, air test are very interesting to review.

I assume the deeper nickels are because of the higher frequency Does it love tabs as well. My F5 hits tabs as more nickel than tabs.

Just want to add a couple of more air test results....

F19 with stock 5x10" Coil, minimum disc, Koss headphones.....Max Gain with very slight EMT.

Clad dime ---can hear it out to 9-1/2" . Can get a ID response out to about 8-1/2"

Dime size flat button - can hear it out to just a hair past 10". (The only readable words on the back of this button are Double Gilt )

3 Ringer Minnie ball - can hear it out to just a hair past 10"

Musket ball (.625) - can hear it out to just a hair past 9".

TID stops about a inch less than the audio response for most tests. Nickels will Id about 2" less than max audio response.

On these air tests, I'm just trying to see how far away I can get the faintest repeatable response that I can be sure is not a EMI false. That requires deliberate, fast movements across the coil. I know we all air test different.

Anyway...something to check our units against.

Sounds like a true relic machine. As far as coins, with my air tests below, (with the lesser coil) I don't see a lot of difference. With the few extra features, FTP has probably priced it right and aimed it towards the relic hunter (as stated in the manual). But the advantage to coin/jewelry hunting appears to be more promanent in the F70 if one wanted increased depth for the price of an F19, IMO.

I was Beach hunting last week (Dry sand) and The F-19 did good, I noticed you really need to pay attention to the Audio part as It's telling you a lot of info.

I had several Targets that were screaming and I would dig out 2 scoops of sand and The Target was still screaming, so at this point I'M now thinking it''s a soda can, 2 more scoops Out pop's a nickle in

my scoop This was The (Pre) recall 19, I'M still waiting for the (post) recall 19. will be digging to China for them Nickles.

Thank you so much for this information Mike! Could you possibly put the numbers together for how the new F19 or your GBug does vs the ETPro you have? I'm still debating getting my fianc
